Dr. Alex Chevalier
Dr. Alex Chevalier has been a lifelong resident of LaSalle, attending Sandwich Secondary School and graduating from French immersion with honours. Alex earned his University of Windsor Biochemistry degree, graduating with distinction. Seeking to follow his passion for dentistry, he shadowed the dentists at Windsor Family Dentistry throughout his undergraduate education. Alex appreciated all aspects of dentistry, identifying the relationships that blossomed between the patient and dentist as notably gratifying, inspiring him to pursue general dentistry.
Alex attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, being awarded the Dental Merit scholarship in recognition of his successful undergraduate work. Alex was very involved with the dental school, participating in the American Student Dental Association pre-dental committee all four years, and was elected as the Canadian Students Association president in his fourth year. Alex also enjoys being involved in the field of community dentistry, having participated in oral cancer screenings for Detroit Men’s Health day, organized outreach in multiple clinics in the metro-Detroit area, as well as volunteering on a dental mission trip to perform oral surgery and restorative treatments to help the rural community of Chichicastenango, Guatemala. He also excelled in his academic studies, achieving induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (top 10% of his class), and received the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry award on his journey to earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Outside of dentistry, Alex has a passion for fitness and athletics, having grown up playing hockey, soccer, golf and volleyball in the LaSalle community. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, cooking, and staying active.
